They are applicable to dry expansion systems, flooded systems, or a combination of dry and flooded systems with pressure control of the con- densing unit. ‘Two-temperature Control Valves are generally of two types, namely the mechanical or pressure-operated type, and the solenoid or elec- trically operated type. The use of the two-temperature valve is to control the flow of liquid refrigerant to each evaporator, or to control the flow of gas leaving each evaporator. The mechanical type valve is installed in the suction line and maintains the evaporator at pre- determined temperature limits by keeping the refrigerant in the evaporator under corresponding pressure limits. The valve automatically opens at the maximum pressure setting and does not close until the minimum pressure setting is reached. The Solenoid type is usually installed in the liquid line to the evaporator ahead of the thermostatic valve, and is operated by a thermostat controlling the temperature of the evaporator, room or liquid being cooled. The Solenoid remains closed until the thermostat calls for refrigeration and then opens until the thermostat requirements are satisfied. Mueller Two-Temperature Valve PRESSURE OPERATED Adjustments may be made by turning the outside knurled case which raises or lowers the cut-out or cut-in without changing the differential.
